Incredible voyage to the Arctic

This exciting voyage to Norway ventures into the Arctic Circle to discover dynamic landscapes. By day, try your hand at wintry experiences such as dog sledding or a snowmobile ride and by night, when atmospheric conditions are right, view the spectacular Aurora Borealis or Northern lights. This incredible display of green and pink light dancing across the night sky is surely one of nature’s greatest wonders.

A canal boat tour is the perfect way to discover charming Amsterdam before Astoria sails to historic Bergen, where the picturesque Hanseatic waterfront harbours shops selling traditional Norwegian souvenirs. Åndalsnes is your chance to enjoy breathtaking fjord scenery dressed for winter. Enjoy sailing between thousands of islands and islets along Norway’s beautiful coastline, cross the Arctic Circle and call in Tromsø, where the daring lines of the Arctic Cathedral are matched only by tales of famous Arctic explorers in the city’s museums. Next stop is tiny Honningsvaag, the starting point of an optional excursion to the dramatic North Cape.

Alta is known as the ‘City of the Northern Lights’ and where you can choose from a host of optional tours and experiences. Perhaps take a drink in the frozen bar of the famous Igloo Hotel, or venture away from the city for a chance to witness the Aurora Borealis, a curtain of purples, pinks, blues and greens rippling across the inky dark sky. In Ålesund, Norway’s art-nouveau town, stroll through streets watched over by gargoyles decorating ornate, gabled and turreted buildings. Finally, explore Stavanger’s cobbled streets and whitewashed 18th century homes - probably northern Europe's best-preserved community of wooden houses.

(Viewing the Northern Lights is subject to atmospheric conditions.)
